SUPPORT YOUR LIBRARY
Friends Of The Library
The Friends of the Library work to promote and improve library service within the community and to bring the library and community closer together. Specifically, the Friends of the Library do the following:
· Focus attention on library needs
· Assist in developing and improving the resources, services and facilities of the library
· Provide community support and advocacy for the library
· Raise funds for special library projects and materials
· Encourage gifts, endowments and memorials to the library
· Establish firm and close relationships between the library and the community
There are Friends groups associated with the Eden Public Library, the Reidsville Public Library and the three libraries in western Rockingham County.
You can contact any Rockingham County Public Library branch location to request information about joining one of these three Friends of the Library groups.
Donations
The library welcomes donations of new and used books. Clean and gently read books are appreciated. Textbooks, Reader's Digest Condensed Books and sets of encyclopedias are not accepted as donations.
Memorials may be given in honor of a loved one. Each library has a form for you to fill out when you donate money for the library to purchase a book in someone's honor or memory. The library will place a book plate in the book, acknowledging the individual. Letters are sent to both the donor and to the person, or the family of the person, in whose name the book was given. |
